English Tour
Rüdersdorf: the unique lost & saved place just outside Berlin
You are an English speaker, living in Berlin or Brandenburg?
You are looking for new discoveries, just at the outskirts of the capital?
You fancy lost & saved places?
You want to learn how Berlin was built?
Then Museumspark Ruedersdorf is the perfect match for you.
Discover truly breathtaking views into a still operating opencast mining.
Learn from more than 770 years of continuous building history, enjoy stunning architectural sights from the 17th – 20th centuries, and relax in a beautiful, huge park.
Come and enjoy our new English program!
The historical tour in English language will be guided by an experienced tour guide who will familiarize you with Ruedersdorf’s unique history in an entertaining and interactive way, leaving none of your questions unanswered. The whole tour will last two and a half hours.
You will encounter a variety of historical buildings and facilities that were used to transport or process the limestone from the adjacent quarry to Berlin and other places. Our buildings could not be more diverse: while some were built according to the designs of famous architects (such as Karl Friedrich Schinkel), others date back to the more recent, socialist past of the former GDR. Altogether, they form a unique architectural ensemble – one that is still rarely known amongst the international communities in Berlin! You simply need to sit in a tram which brings you to the museum park.
