May we introduce ourselves?
As early as 1990, heritage conservationists, volunteers, and activists campaigned for the preservation and restoration of the old industrial monuments and their accessibility. Over the years, a park landscape with unique buildings emerged on the northern edge of the active open-cast mine, reflecting the municipality's long mining tradition and industrial history. In 2008, the first operating company was founded to run the Rüdersdorf Museum Park and the 'Martin Andersen Nexö' cultural center as a wholly owned subsidiary of the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin. Today, the non-profit Museums- und Kultur GmbH Rüdersdorf manages the park and cultural center.
